Double gig week for Room3! Tonight, we're playing with one of the most trailblazing hip hop groups there ever was, Slum Village, and Friday night, we're out at the Anderson Center in Red Wing, MN doing 90 minutes of original music. Ticket links can be found below.
It's hard to overstate how dope this show is going to be tonight. Dilla beats just translate so well live—the feel is already so human and the sound is so raw, it doesn't take much effort at all to bring them to life. And once the loops start, they never get stale. In rehearsal, we've found ourselves looping some of these tracks in a trance-like state for several minutes just cause the groove is so solid and each part compliments the whole so well. As a band with a collective ADHD brain, we've finally found something that we'll gladly stay put on without the constant desire for variation.
We've made the last minute addition of our good friend, Traiveon, on vocals for this show. He's sounding so great on these hooks, man. The full band rehearsal last night with the SV guys was a dream. You're in for a treat if you can make it tonight!
