First and foremost, HAPPY 25TH BIRTHDAY TO THE ONE, THE ONLY, BECK "WORMDOVE" ANDERSON. A wise & gentle soul and a true artist in every sense of the word. This man was put on this earth to create, push boundaries, and inspire, and he is doing one hell of a job at it. Beck is a founding member of Room3 and has been a major force in propelling this band forward with his boundless creativity and savvy business mindset. We're lucky to have him, and his many, many strings. Make sure you send some love Beck's way today.

Speaking of Beck, he will be offering a little glimpse into his experience at NAMM 2026 this past weekend out in Anaheim, CA. If you're not familiar, NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) is probably the biggest musician / music industry networking event in the world, and it is an opportunity for the most popular brands in live music (Yamaha, GK, Roland, etc.) to demo and sell their latest products. Read on for more on that and a listening rec from Beck!

Also, if you haven't yet, grab a ticket to our show at Dakota next Wednesday opening for the legendary fusion band, The Head Hunters. These guys played with Herbie Hancock!! Follow the link below.

Please continue to stay safe and look out for your neighbors, friends. Very proud of Minneapolis in this moment. We love you and urge you to keep up the fight in whatever way you're able!

What's happening??

Hey y'all, this is Beck writing. I've had a grand adventure this past month driving out to the NAMM show and back. Here are a few things that happened and my biggest takeaways:

Spending time with the MTD family: Michael Tobias Design is a bass luthier out of Kingston, New York and the creator of my 8-string bass. I had the fantastic opportunity this year to hang out with the entire team that makes these basses this year. Really fun guys that all are great artists as well. It was a great debate whether they consider their basses 'art'. I know I certainly do. I was introduced to this company by my teacher, friend, and MTD artist Bubby Lewis! I got to meet many more MTD artists (including the godfather of gospel, Andrew Gouché), many of which really loved this 8-string bass. Although many will not remember my name just yet, I am sure many people will remember me as the '8-string bass player from NAMM'.

Fellowship with great friends: Most of my time this weekend was spent with my good friends Bubby Lewis & David Persaud. After talking all year, it was great to see these men in person once again. The absolute star of the weekend was a Brazilian steakhouse called 'Texas De Brazil'. We went once, did a 2-day fast drinking only water, and then went back to the same steakhouse. We do this to strengthen our bodies, minds, and spirits. On the second time around, we were also joined by Andrew Gouche!! These dudes are some of the most caring people I know, and they are fantastic role models for how to handle business in an industry that can be quite exploitive. The loyalty they show to the people that they work with is outstanding.

Business moving forward: It was so fantastic to get more insight into the music industry. What a mess! With the transitional shifts of the industry going on, now is a fantastic opportunity to implement new innovative ideas. 2026 will be a year of great innovation on both the business and music side of Room3!

NEW DROPS

Recorded music

Album 2 is still in the works! We're in the midst of arguing about which songs should make the cut and which shouldn't – An important part of every band's album-making process.

Concert footage

Nothing new to report here. Expect to see video & audio footage of The Headhunters show on Feb. 4 and the Slum Village show on March 4. Check out our YouTube (@room3collective) to revisit some old live concerts!

Merch

New iterations of the classic “Room3” T-shirt are available at all of our live shows. Now in Pink and Dark Purple for $30 a pop. “Bill’s Garden” CDs are also available for $15.

WHAT Y'ALL KNOW ABOUT THIS??

One member of the group hand-selects one album and one live concert to highlight, offering insight into its significance (personal or otherwise). All of the artists highlighted in this segment have at least one thing in common: They are all innovators. These giants set the standard for what’s possible and what's hip, and they inspired us to keep reaching. We hope they do the same for you!

These are some of Beck's favorites to listen to over the years. Not much to say. I hope you enjoy :)
